Popeyes Just Released 5 All-New Menu Items

If there’s one thing we at Allrecipes don’t like to joke about, it’s food, which can make April 1 a pretty disappointing day. It seems like nearly every brand teases a new—and oftentimes fake—product on April Fools' Day, and, we fall for it year after year. So, when Popeyes posted a video of pickle juice and lemonade mixed together, we instantly checked the date. And lo and behold, Popeyes’ caption reads, “4.1.25.” We weren’t the only ones who caught onto the timing. 

“I know it’s an April Fools' joke but I’d be there the first day it dropped in stores,” one commenter wrote. 

“If you post April Fools I will go to KFC for the rest of my life,” another user joked. 

While it may have started as a tease, Popeyes is actually bringing its Pickle Lemonade to fruition on April 1—along with a slew of other pickle-themed menu items.

Popeyes Launches a New Pickle Menu

No, it’s not an April Fools' Day prank, Popeyes is actually introducing a pickle-themed menu with five all-new items. The menu will include a Pickle Glaze Sandwich, Pickle Glaze Bone-In and Boneless Wings, Fried Pickles, and the social media favorite, Pickle Lemonade. 

The new twist on the sandwich that broke the internet features the same crispy, hand-battered chicken filet you know and love, topped with pickles and a pickle-flavored glaze on a brioche bun. That same zesty pickle glaze will also top Popeyes’ signature bone-in wings and boneless wings.

Popeyes’ Pickle Lemonade, which is what started the new menu in the first place, combines the fan-loved “Premium Lemonade” with salty, briny pickle juice for a sweet-and-savory drink that might just become your new go-to. 

Lastly, and maybe most excitedly, Popeyes is finally adding Fried Pickles to the menu. The pickles are battered with Popeyes signature seasonings before being fried to crunchy, golden brown perfection and served with a side of creamy ranch. 

Popeyes added fried pickles to its Canadian menu earlier this year, which sparked interest among U.S. fans. While the new side will only be available for a limited time, it’s nice to know that fried pickles can come to the drive-thru stateside. 

The pickle menu will be available beginning April 1—and, don’t worry, just because Popeyes turned its flagship Times Square restaurant green, doesn’t mean the menu is only available there. Popeyes' pickle menu is hitting restaurants nationwide now through May 5.

Now, this is an April Fool’s Day announcement we can actually get behind.
