Trump keeps saying the Hush Money trial is keeping him from campaigning. Thee was no court today so surely treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans can tell us where Trump was campaigning today can't they? Because if they can't then that's another lie isn't it?

There is already a hearing scheduled for April 23 on Trump violating his gag order. And this will probably come up.

Trump's latest social media slip is a 'very very clear violation' of his gag order: expert

Donald Trump may have violated his gag order set by the New York judge in his criminal hush money trial by parroting a Fox New host's attack against potential jurors being seated in the case, according to a legal expert.

On Wednesday, during a pause in proceedings where Trump is defending himself against a 34-count indictment that he falsified business records to bury alleged sexual affairs weeks before the 2016 election, the former president quoted Fox News host Jesse Watters stating: “They are catching undercover Liberal Activists lying to the Judge in order to get on the Trump Jury."

For NYU professor and general counsel of the Department of Defense Ryan Goodman, this was a huge no-no.

"It is a very, very clear violation of the gag order," he told CNN's Erin Burnett on her show "Out Front." "The gag order's last provision says that Trump cannot make public statements about any prospective juror or any juror. Full stop."

He continued: "It's not about his intent. It's not about making statements about jurors in order to interfere with a criminal proceeding, which is part of the gag order — he just cannot make public statements about them. He just did."

The gag order was initially imposed on defendant Trump by New York Judge Juan Merchan to insulate witnesses, court staff, and jurors. But after Trump started a social media barrage against Merchan's political consultant daughter who did work for various Democratic candidates, he expanded the gag order terms to include family members of both the prosecutors and the judge.

So Trump must "refrain" from "making or directing others to make public statements about any prospective juror or any juror in the is criminal proceedings," according to the document.

The 45th president who is also the presumptive Republican nominee for president has been beside himself to lift the gag order so he can sound off at will about his disdain for the historic first criminal trial of a former president.

"I want to speak, or at least be able respond," he groused on Truth Social. "Election Interference! RIGGED, UNCONSTITUTIONAL TRIAL! Take off the Gag Order!!!"

An April 23 hearing date was scheduled after Bragg's team requested Trump be held in contempt for violating the gag order three times before the most recent Truth Social post.

"This is going to come out next week," Goodman said, adding that Trump could be threatened with contempt and even jail time "if he continues to do this."

So he be found a few thousand $ a time for his breach of the rulings on his posts what's the bet his lawyer will hand the judge a cheque for a hundred thousand dollars and say this will last for a couple of weeks.

I am not so sure. Attacks on potential jurors have already escalated to an unprecedented level and the jury isn't even seated yet. And the judge is going stop that. and just fining Trump might not do it.

Almost every ex prosecutor and lawyer I've seen on TV say at this point judge Merchan basically has one job; protect the jury. So this is really big. Judge Merchan cannot allow prospective jury members and the jurors themselves to be outed and intimidated. He is going to have to take decisive moves to prevent that. Because Trump continues to violate his gag order.

'Juror number 2' dismissed from Trump trial after fears she was being identified

A juror who was one of seven so far picked to sit on Donald Trump's hush money trial was excused Thursday after voicing concerns her identity was being revealed.

In a series of posts to X this Thursday, CNN legal analyst Norm Eisen, who was in the courtroom Thursday, reported that the juror, who was one of those chosen on Tuesday, had "concerns about her ability to be fair."

Also read: 'A little dicey': Ethics experts raise eyebrows at latest Trump campaign spending tactics

"She’s concerned that her identity is being revealed," Eisen wrote of the woman, who was identified only as "juror number two" because the judge ruled names would be kept under wraps.

He added, "Content was being pushed to her phone by friends & family."

Judge Juan Merchan made the announcement after discussing with lawyers for both sides.

It had taken two days of jury selection to find the seven jurors picked so far. The jury is scheduled to be seated by Monday.

The trial needs 12 jurors and six alternates.

How can the jurors be protected the cars that transport them from the court to there house or when they are staying can be followed. Or someone in court will recognise them and via private social media accounts tell other more dangerous people who they are and who the loved ones are.

If I heard correctly jurors will drive to public parking garages where they will be picked up and driven to court. Then taken into the court house where they go in in protected entrances. The locations will be changed, again if I heard correctly. And this isn't just for Trump's case. Precautions like this are not common but are used. Especially in mafia cases.

You see, this is how propaganda works. The details of the juror concerned that her identity might be compromised was initially not much of an issue. But once the persecution and the judge had a side bar about it, it became an issue. And surprisingly, the media were all but pointed to the problem by helpful leaks from ........... someone. Because, you see, sidebar conversations are not something shared between other than the judge, the persecutor, and the defense. Surprise, this sidebar somehow got leaked.
    Imagine that.

So now american hater can make the copy N paste thingy and make the very strong inference that the trump people are threatening jurors.

Which is not the case at all.

But no matter, the headline was published by wrong story, repeated by american hater, and another point scored for the get trump no matter what mission.

The 12 jurors in Trump's hush money case have been selected. They still have to come up with six alternates. But the actually jury has been sworn in and seated.

It might be before then. Prosecutors are now identifying 10 times Trump has violated his gag order. And today the judge had to dismiss one juror because someone figured out where she worked and she feared being identified. There is a hearing scheduled for next Tuesday on the violations. And the judge seems to be taking it very seriously. And fines don't seem to be a deterrent because Trump doesn't pay themself anyway. His donors do.

It is not funny at all. The growing popularity and wealth of Trump are proof that he must not be allowed to run for re election, and that he must be imprisoned, and that all of his wealth must be confiscated. The government can make far better use of Trump's wealth than he can. :smug:

This exchange actually caused the observation room to bust out laughing when the judge said he could not fault the prosecution for not wanting to release the names of the first witnesses in advance. But I think its more significant than that. Its common for prosecutors to give the defense the names of their first few witnesses before trial begins. And this trial is moving much faster than almost anyone guessed. But that is more of a courtesy not a requirement. And so the prosecution just flatly refused to hand over the names of the first witnesses pointing out Trump was already attacking witnesses in violation of his gag order. So Trump's lawyer told the judge they could release the names of the first few witnesses for attorney eyes only and they would not share the names with Trump. And the judge said he would not agree with that and would make a decision later. That indicates to me the judge does not trust Trump or his attorneys and they might not know who the first witness and subsequent witnesses are until they walk through the doors to take the stand and testify.

New York Judge Juan Merchan said he would not order prosecutors to disclose a witness list to the defense team in light of former President Donald Trump's attacks on figures connected to his hush-money case.

At the conclusion of the third day of jury selection in Trump's first criminal trial, defense attorney Todd Blanche asked the prosecution which witnesses would be called first.

Assistant District Attorney Joshua Steinglass noted that Trump made social media posts about several potential witnesses, which prosecutors say violated the judge's gag order.

"What if I commit to the court that President Trump will not" post Truth posts about witnesses, Blanche says," Tyler McBrien of Lawfare tweeted.

"I don't think you can make that representation," Merchan replies.

"We're not telling him who the witnesses are," Steinglass said, according to reports.

"I can't fault them for that," Merchan replied, noting he would not order the prosecution to turn over a witness list.

As of Thursday, 12 jurors and one alternate had been selected for the trial. Jury selection was expected to resume on Friday.

Andrew Weissmann was a member of the Mueller investigation. And he is just the sharpest of the ex federal prosecutor pundits and constantly catches things the other pundits seem to miss. Just like this. Everyone knows Trump is going to try and use the I was just protecting Melania defense. But Weissmann points out why that dog just won't hunt.

Prosecutors have 'key piece of evidence' to refute Trump's Melania-based defense: expert

One of Donald Trump's big defenses in the hush money criminal case is the claim that he wanted to pay women off to keep it from his wife, Melania. One legal expert said that the claim won't stand up in court because Trump was trying to wriggle out of the hush money.

Speaking on an MSNBC panel, former top Justice Department prosecutor Andrew Weissmann explained that the stories about Trump will be told "in gruesome detail."

That piqued the interest of host Nicolle Wallace: "Like what?"

Weissmann said that the seedy world of "catch and kill" stories from the National Enquirer would ultimately be a big part of the discussion.

"And why they decided, for instance, one of the key pieces of evidence for the D.A. seems to be to refute the idea that he wants to do this just to keep it from Melania is Donald Trump saying, 'Well, let's see if we could do this later and if I lose the election, who cares because I'm not doing this to keep it from my wife.'"

Weissmann is citing Trump's comments to Michael Cohen not to pay the hush money until after November. If he lost, it wouldn't matter, but if he won, he still wanted to hide it. That shows it wasn't about his wife but about his campaign and his presidency, according to the expert.

"And on day one of this case, it was Monday," Weissmann continued. "The catch and kill was more than just catch and kill. It was, ironically, a fake news campaign. It was to keep information that was damaging to Donald Trump out. But I think we're going to hear a number of details that the D.A. is correct in what he's proffering about efforts to smear his opponents."

Weissmann went on to say that one thing he anticipates they will hear is that Trump was being sent headlines to approve for the National Enquirer beforehand.

"I don't want to call this a major news outlet, but [it was] a media outlet in complete cahoots with a political campaign," Weissmann closed.

Trump already has his excuse for when he'll be declared guilty. "The DA picked a liberal jury!"
