Digital unveils Alta Vista for intranets

Digital Equipment on Wednesday formally unveiled AltaVista Search Intranet Private eXtension (PX). The product, due at the end of the month, is designed for corporate intranets to index and locate data on a company's web and file servers. AltaVista Search Intranet Private eXtension runs on 64-bit Digital AlphaServers running Digital Unix. PX will be priced between $15,999.95 and $69,999.95, depending on server configurations and user licenses.
