Mohanlal’s action-packed thriller L2: Empuraan has become one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema in 2025. Since its release on March 27, the Malayalam-language film directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran has earned over Rs 200 crore worldwide. The latest movie is a sequel to the blockbuster 2019 film Lucifer, and its immense success has left fans eagerly waiting for the third part of the series, which is titled L3: The Beginning.
Amid the buzz surrounding Empuraan, actor Tovino Thomas’ latest Instagram post featuring Mohanlal has garnered quite some attention on the internet. The post began with a picture taken by Tovino where the South superstar was seen posing with the 36-year-old actor’s family at an airport. All of them sported laidback looks for a comfortable journey. Tovino shared the post without any written words and just with two red heart emojis, letting the photos speak highly about his happiness on bumping into his co-star Mohanlal. While it might seem like another casual and co-incidental airport meet-up, fans were quick to cook up their own theories.
In L2: Empuraan, Tovino plays the role of Jathin Ramdas, a character whose fate was left uncertain after a helicopter explosion. Many thought that it was the end of his character, but the new post shared by the 36-year-old actor has left fans buzzing with excitement as they speculate his return to the third and final instalment of the film series.
